High & Divine
Body Expressions

Bring the thing you have been drawing on the back of your hand for a year. A first piece, a piece of flash, a piercing you have talked yourself out of twice — it gets done here, and nobody pulls a face about it.

Welcome to high&divine body expressions where you may express your artistic spirit through the representation of body enhancements judgment free!

Tattoos

What the portfolio is full of, in the order it turns up: fine-line blackwork, small flash you can get in a sitting, lettering on a banner, ornamental framing around a subject, and colour when a piece asks for it.

  • Fine-line blackwork

Line-led drawing with no shading to hide behind — moths, roses, hands, eyes. The things that read from across a room and still hold up at arm's length.

  • Flash and small pieces

Little work, done properly. A bird on a shoulder, a wheel on a finger, the same piece across a group of friends who came in together.

  • Lettering

Script and banner work, drawn to fit the piece it belongs to rather than dropped on top of it.

  • Colour

Used where it earns its place: the wings on a piece, the red of a gem, the parts a black-and-grey version would lose.

Getting a quote

Tattoos are priced per piece. Send the idea, any reference you have, roughly how big you want it and where it is going on you, and you get a price and a date back.

The artist

Madley tattoos and pierces here, and writes and releases music under the same name — indie pop out of Charlotte, North Carolina, two albums and a run of singles.

It is the same hand doing both, and it shows. The drawing that ends up on a forearm and the song it came out of are one instinct pointed at different material.

Instagram is the quickest way in — it is where the work goes up and where the messages get read. Email reaches the same people.

Say what you want done, where on you it goes, and roughly when you are free. For a tattoo, send any reference you have — a photograph, a scribble, the wrong version of the idea. All of it helps.
