Guides to places we actually went.
Small American cities, written up properly: what is worth your afternoon, what the place was built on, and when to turn up. No sponsored listicles, no top-ten anything — just the version you would want from someone who had been.
Syracuse
The Salt City at the top of the Finger Lakes. A canal town that got rich on brine, buried the canal under a square, and now gets more snow than any other metro in the country.

A harbour town on Little Bay de Noc, and the work of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul along that shoreline. Sand Point Lighthouse, Ludington Park, and a community page for the people who keep the lights on.

Facts first, opinions clearly labelled.
Every date, figure and claim in these guides is checked against a source before it goes up. Where something is a judgement — the best season, the walk worth doing — it reads as one.
Sourced
Founding dates, snowfall averages, championship years and museum histories are verified, not recalled. If a number is on the page, it came from somewhere.
Independent
Not tourism boards, not sponsored, nobody paid for a placement. Which also means hours and prices are not ours to guarantee — check before you travel.
Respectful of who was there first
Where a place has an Indigenous history, it is given as history rather than attraction, with a steer to read about a nation from that nation.
